QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST - BIRMINGHAM, AL

The Quality Assurance Specialist will work within the Project Management Office to test software development, develop scripts and support projects. This role supports all projects that are being managed by the PMO including development work that is being addressed within the backlog. This role will be responsible for the delivery, support, improvement of processes and functionalities utilizing the latest technology that is being used at Ram Tool Construction Supply. These software systems include, but are not limited to: ADP, CornerStone On Demand, SAP, K2, Hybris, ZLein, Esker, Innovaptive, Jira, MicroStrategy & WebForms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This role is responsible for developing, executing and evaluating software test plans

  • Review and analyze technical requirements, gain a thorough understanding of project scope and create a test plan that is aligned with project parameters and goals

  • Develop and maintain test plans using approved software methodology guidance

  • Execute test plans using various testing methods, levels and objectives

  • Document test plan results and report testing activity status to the development team

  • Assist with creating documentation such as test management plans, use case, test scenario templates

  • Evaluate, troubleshoot and test the software repeatedly in order to detect all errors and bugs and recommend bug fixes

  • Review testing plans, testing progress, results, and next steps with project teams

  • Perform other duties as deemed relevant, based upon experience

  • Review technical documentation and maintain knowledge about software releases

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems preferred

  • Well rounded experience with business software expectations

  • Ability to listen and learn quickly on business objectives

  • Detail oriented

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work well in a group and on an individual basis

  • Ability to comprehend and document differences in testing finding

  • Comprehension of software from a technical and functional perspective
